Go Bald

Two days in a row, I've noticed this man with a striking shaven head while on my way to work. Striking because he has a nice head shape and because his bald head really sticks out prominently from a crowd of crowning glories.

Anyway, I saw him this morning again. Because he was right infront of me and I had nowhere else to look, I got a good close-up of his head. This guy is positively balding somewhere in the middle. You can tell because that patch looks different from the rest of his scalp. Now I'm not trying to be mean seeing how balding and receding hairlines can have a devastating effect on a young man but I just think it's so cool to go for the perfectly shaven look when you're at the edge of losing it all. It's an ingenious solution.Get rid of the balding look and look good at the same time. It also tells of a confident man who knows he doesn't need a head full of hair to look good.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think balding men are attractive. The key word here is 'bald'. So to all the young balding men out there, my advice to you is go bald.

Go totally bald.

Reminds me of this true-life story I read once, about a really beautiful girl who has Alopecia (hair fall disease). Eventually she goes completely bald. And she refuses to wear a wig. Instead, she goes to school not a bit shy or embarrassed about her bald head, and what's more, she wears a t-shirt that says "Today is No Hair Day!"

how's that for a rocking attitude??

I completely agree, I really like to see people embracing their baldness. Male pattern baldness is a card that no man wants life to throw his way. But for many it is, some people become self-conscious, turn to comb-overs, wigs, sprays, perscriptions or even hair transplants for help. But I have a lot of respect for people that shave their heads and take on this bump in the road of life with a great attitude. Im getting active again, made a new post and will be making a few more, I didn't leave our circuit forever, just took a break. Email me sometime. -Jordan

Hi Chi,

Love that story, love that attitude. What a radical thing to do!

Hey Scott,

you must be my first visitor from Toronto- love to visit that part of the world. Will check out your blog real soon. Ciao

Hi Jordan,

The most ridiculous thing balding men do is that big sweep-across. What's the point of such a severe side parting when obviously EVERYBODY knows a balding man when they see one??? It kills me to see men that clueless. I would love to walk up and give them a piece of my mind :)

Anyway, it's great to have you back again. You know i check out your blog on a regular basis.

Cheers,

Natalie

Well,

Devastating is too less a word ....But yes, I agree, total bald is a better option. Our Pizza stall manager has done the same thing....and it makes the person quite dignified I would say.

And chik's story, thats an awesome attitude to life !!! Ya know, care a damn for your opinion kind !!!

I can only imagine what my attitude would be like if for some I began to lose my hair. I just hope I could have the good attitude this guy is displaying.

I like to see when men who are going bald shave their hair down to the millimeter. Not completely bald, but still just enough hair to notice it close up. The guy that I have my eye on now has his hair like this.

I agree Nat, we call that a comb-over over here. Sure maybe from a mile away someone would think you still had a head of hair, but up close it looks kind almost ridiculous.

Hi jordan,

i learnt this term 'sweep across' from watching seinfield. It's the most ridiculous thing i heard and just pretty much stuck in my head.

chris, yea why don't you try that??? I challenge you to it!
